The Hostal View

Cuzco

...the plane was a decrepit nightmare, but actually became airborne quite readily and in a few minutes we busrt forth from the cloudly shroud of Lima and into the sun, then over the Andes, so close to several mountians it looked as though you could have jumped out and skiied. We landed in Cusco and proceeded at once to my favorite hostal, Las Resbalosas, who had recently completed a sun deck overlooking the city, took a nap and then scampered out to check out the town.

Street Musicians

Cuzco was alive as always, packed with musicians, tourists, and travellers.

Mr Hahr was on another flight, so the three of us scampered about and made plans to meet the rest of the crew that evening at the legendary Mama Africa. We consumed copious amounts of alcohol and danced ourselves silly. Andy appeared, as did veteren Peruvians Josh and Rachael, and Doug and Karen. We were a veritable mob, the likes of which Cuzco may have never seen!

The next two days were spent exploring the ruins around Cuzco... (here we are at Tambo Machay exploring Incan plumbing...)

There was plenty to see in Cuzco itself, and we counted the many angles on the rocks that make up the foundations of Cuzco.

Another fine Cuzco dinnah!
Josh aquired a new toy and beat it madly...

Thusly, we meandered forth into the sacred valley of Ollantaytambo... (Step into the van to begin)
