The Smart Car

Category: Cars , Environment

The Motorway: This is the famous "Smart Car". A miniscule 2 seater that supposedly gets up to 100mpg. I tried one out on Saturday and it's every bit as roomy and capable as a regular car and even accelerates quite well. Plus you can park it almost anywhere, even at a 90 degree angle! Granted is not possible to fit more than two people, and I forgot to accurately gauge the mileage, but I don't think it was as good as advertised. Still beats the socks off anything comparable, and would be an ideal commuting car if you have to drive. It also looks really cool. Pity they're not available in the US, unless you ship one over yourself.

They are available on Ebay for less than $7,000. Unfortunately their lousy website is impossible to navigate. There is also a "sporty coupe" coming out next year...

Does anybody know where I could rent a Smart Car in France? Could you give me the name of a car rental company or a website where I could find one? I want to rent a Smart Car in Tours. Any information about renting a Smart car would give me a start on where to look.
Thank you.
