Hungerford Footbridges

London: Responding to the demand for more pedestrian crossings over the River Thames, and the presence of a rather decrepit existing railway crossing, the Hungerford Footbridges kill two birds with one stone: By straddling the sides of the existing bridge, they beautify the existing structure and provide a very useful new way to cross the river.
Less famous than the Millennium Bridge downstream, the Hungerford Footbridges are just as significant. Plus, they look really cool at night!

I would say they are more significant than the Blade of Shite because, well, I use them.
I do agree with you - they are beautiful - but to me they serve to expose just how ghastly the Hungerford Bridge is. Now, if only they'd replaced that...
