Brooklyn Bridge Park

New York: Brooklyn has definitely been coming up in the world for a while now, and the formerly dismal Brooklyn waterfront may see some very enlightened development in the near future.

In the spirit of Manhattan's High Line project, plans are afoot to convert several abandoned piers into a top-notch park, offering some of the finest views of Manhattan imaginable, as well as lots of nice open space. The project is especially important given Brooklyn's relative lack of green space, and is probably the first major project of its kind in New York. Still, nothing is set in stone yet, and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Coalition is actively seeking help in getting things off the ground. Check out their website:
