New Detroit Airport Terminal

Category: Aviation

Detroit: Well, it's no longer a nightmare to find yourself at Detroit Metro Airport. The new terminal is complete and is truly brilliant. It's spacious, clean, modern, and even has a red train that zips you through the terminal. My favorite feature is a jumping fountain just inside the main entryway. Fabulous layover entertainment.

Of course, weather can still shut the place down, which is how I ended up spending New Year's eve on a plane. But that's another story.

Now, it's about time they started working on the rest of Detroit.

I will be arriving on NW Flt 3768 from Des Moines, Ia. at 1:00p and departing on NW Flt 426 to Orlando FL. at 1:30p I am told that I will be arriving at Gate C6 and departing from Gate A64. What type of transportation exists betwee these gates and will I have sufficient time to make my connection, assuming both flight sre on schedule?
Thank you.

The "C" terminal is connected to the main term via tunnel. Lots of moving sidewalks to help you get out of there and over to the other terminal.

"C" is not bad to come into, but it SUCKS to fly out of. NO seats, NO toilets, No drinking fountains, NO waiting areas. They line you up along the concrete block walls while you wait. Its like a freeking cattle chute. The only way they could make it more dehumanizing would be to put numbered tags in our ears and issue cattle prods to the people working at the gates.
