Materials Reuse

Category: Environment , Society

San Francisco: Building REsources is a non-profit firm in San Francisco who collect, via donation, used materials and architectural remnants from building and demolition sites. They organize it all, and sell it. Kind of like a junkyard, but with a more specific environmental and artistic purpose in mind.

Comparable facilities are sure to be found in most any city. Such firms benefit construction and demolition companies by reducing disposal costs. They benefit individuals looking for cheap and interesting materials for projects, and they benefit us all by keeping innumerable amounts of waste out of the landfill.
