Transit Oriented Development PDF

Category: Urban Planning

Chicago: Here's a neat PDF to download with some simple information about transit oriented development in the Chicago area. [LINK TO PDF HERE]

Transit oriented development is typically of a higher density than suburban development and designed such that a large number of people can walk to a local train/transit station. This greatly reduces people's dependance on cars, which in my opinion is the single largest environmental culprit we've created.

Kudos to the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission for producing this easy to understand PDF that illustrates a wide variety of housing ideas all developed with transit in mind. Good to print and pass out and meetings.
