Buried Parking on a Massive Scale
Monte Carlo: Monaco is one of the smallest countries in the world, and a very popular destination for tourists. There is virtually no space on the surface to be wasted for parking, so it's all underground. (Unless you drive something fancy, in which case it will be ostentatiously parked in front of your hotel, but that's another story).
Judging by this diagram it seems like half of this hillside nation is hollowed out for level upon level of parking spaces. There is also a train station on the bottom level, deep within the earth. The streets are relatively cleansed of traffic and a lot more space is thus made available for gardens and pathways for people. It's pretty amazing.
