The Eurostar

Category: Transit

Le Manche: Eurostar was fabulous. A near-perfect success! There is not much more to say than 'brilliance!' when regarding a 180mph train than takes you effortlessly from London to Brussels in 2 1/2 hours right to the center of the city. I took my first trip on Friday evening, and visions of the infinite possibilities awaiting the distant future of the US were hopping around in my head. Although tickets were slightly more than flying, the reduced hassle made it more than worth while. Eurostar more famously goes to Paris, which will have to wait for the next trip.

It would have been nice if the relevant authorities had taken care of customs formalities while aboard the train instead of creating a massive line-up in the station, but what am I complaining about? It was great.

I agree. did you know that they are going to to have a high speed train from Paris to Barcelona by 2007 that would make it a mere 2.5 hour trip?
